Two-Day Printmaking Workshop with Mullowney Printing

Total Number of Participants: Approx 8-12

Explore the world of fine art printmaking in this two-day workshop designed for
teens ages 14–18. In partnership with Mullowney Printing, students will receive
hands-on experience with traditional techniques including screen printing,
lithography, and letterpress. All materials will be provided, including drawing tools,
screens, and printing supplies.

Day 1: November 8 @ Bodecker Foundation
The first session introduces students to printmaking fundamentals and the creative
process behind preparing artwork for print. Participants will:

● Learn about studio practices and expectations
● Create drawings and/or film positives for use in screen printing, lithography,
and/or letterpress printing.
● Explore design and composition using a variety of drawing materials
● Collaborate and prepare materials to bring to the print studio

Day 2 : November 15 @ Mullowney Printing Studio
In the second session, students bring their artwork to life inside a professional
printmaking studio in NW Portland. This hands-on experience includes:

● Exposing screens and/or preparing plates
● Printing on paper and/or t-shirts
● Experimenting with multiple traditional print processes
● Taking home finished printed work

This is a rare opportunity for young artists to experience every step of the
printmaking process, from concept to final print, guided by experts in the field.
