Winter + Spring 2026 Workshops!

Bodecker Foundation’s Spring 2026 workshop series offers young creatives the opportunity to learn directly from working artists while gaining hands-on experience in professional studio environments.

All workshops are free, application-based, and designed for students ages 14–18. Space is limited to ensure an intimate, high-impact learning experience.

EQ Workshop: Shaping Sound in the Studio

Young audio engineers, join us on Saturday, March 14th from 10:00 – 3:00 pm for a FREE workshop led by Bodecker’s in-house audio engineer and studio manager Tony Ozier, this immersive workshop introduces students to EQ (equalization)—one of the most essential tools in music production, mixing, and sound design.

Working inside our analog and digital recording studio, students will learn how to shape tone, clarity, and balance across vocals, instruments, and full mixes through guided listening and practical studio exercises.

Nicky-Speak Your Peace-Workshop

Speak Your Truth: Slam Poetry Workshop 

Do you have something to say? Join Nicky Nicholson-Klingerman on Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. This spoken word workshop centers the healing and performative power of slam poetry. Students will study influential voices—from Gwendolyn Brooks to Brandon Leake—alongside contemporary poets while developing their own original work.

Participants will write, workshop, revise, and perform their poetry in a supportive, collaborative environment designed to build confidence and community.

Figure Drawing Workshop

Hone your observational skills and develop your portfolio on Saturday, May 30th from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Led by Portland-based artist Yujin Oh, this observational drawing workshop focuses on translating the human form through line, gesture, proportion, and expressive mark-making.

Students will work through a range of exercises—from quick gesture sketches to longer studies—while strengthening both technical skills and creative confidence.
