Sound Body – Figure Drawing for Adults
We know that creativity is not just for the “young” – it’s for everyone. That’s why this spring, once again, we are excited to offer Sound Body, our figure drawing sessions for adults ages 18+ (or those with guardian permission). These three hour sessions will take place every Sunday in March through May (with the exception of Easter and Mother’s Day). Led by local artist Yujin Oh and supported by live models, these sessions will be a chance to develop observational skills in a supportive and unique studio environment.
From expert to novice, these sessions offer something for everyone. All materials are provided. Just show up with a willingness to observe and draw. There are twelve sessions total, all Sundays from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm starting March 1 and ending May 31. Get a ticket to one session for $35 or all 12 for $380! This month, we are delighted to welcome Morgan Cooper, the creative force behind BEL AIR, as our newest Artist in Residence. Cooper will speak with over 400 students at Franklin High School. The goal is to spark young people to realize that their creative and career dreams are within reach.
It’s been a while since our 2023 Scholarship Recipients Award Ceremony, but we love to hear from the awardees! We recently received a touching note from a 2023 Bodecker Scholarship Recipient, who is now flourishing as a freshman at The Art Institute of Chicago. We can’t wait to share information about our next scholarship opportunity in January 2024.
